Located in Little River, Miami, Chimera Design conceived Haram Haram as a tattoo studio envisioned as a sanctuary celebrating ritual, heritage, and personal expression. Commissioned by Lebanese and Indonesian artist Natashia El-Badewi, the project reframes tattooing, often regarded as taboo in certain cultural contexts, as a ceremonial practice deserving of reverence. Arches, niches, and curved built-ins guide visitors from public to private spaces, creating a quiet sense of procession.
Deep pomegranate tones, plastered curves, and custom railings inspired by sand dunes introduce warmth and rhythm throughout the lounge, retail, and tattoo areas, while fabric curtains soften transitions and reinforce privacy. The studio comprises a welcome tea lounge, retail area, three tattoo stations, and back-of-house spaces, all designed to balance hygiene and durability with a sensory, immersive experience. Delivered as a collaborative design-build, the project reflects a space that is both welcoming and deeply personal.
